July 16, Day 63, Waterton Nat'l Park, Hot

Waterton, great little town, in the Glacier Waterton Nat'l Park.  Biking around the town is a favorite amoung visitors, along with the hiking, of course.  Along the river......

and the lake.......

And the waterfall.......

then a very cool dip in the lake.

Besides the deer begging for food from campers this was the wildlife, and there were hundreds of these fellows in the campground.

Lana and chuck went on the boat ride to Goats Haunt.
Border between Canada and the USA on Waterton Lake.

Out post ranger station at Goat's haunt, USA.  PS. Lana has a friend that spent a summer stationed here.

View from Goat's Haunt

Stay tuned.  One more post tonight, Watertown to Helena.

July 15,16. Day 61, 62. Banff to Waterton, Hot

Our last walk on our trip with the McCarter's.  Dorothy hurt her knee so they are headed home 2 days early, skipping Waterton  Nat'l Park.  We had great travels with good friends, what more could you ask for?
                                                              Last evening together.

A selfie, we dogs were at their feet, couldn't get all eight of us.

On to our last stop, Waterton Nat'l Park.

July 14, 15, Lake Loiuse to Banff. Day 60, 61, Hot

On the drive to Banff we stopped at Spiral Tunnels.  This is just a small sample of this area.  We have lots more info and pictures for our neighbor, Joe, since he is a train enthusiast.

Saw a lot of these guys, mountain sheep, licking minerals on the road.  You'd think they'ed put mineral blocks up a ways to avoid collisions with vehicles.  I know it isn't natural but either are the roads!

Behind our campsite in Banff.

This is the "tent" side of our campground, protected by electric fences from the grizzlies.      The Banff and Lake Louise area is a "nursery for grizzlies",  hence they take precautions to protect us (pets), humans, and the bears.

July 13, Day 59 Lake Louise, Hot

There's more people here than we saw in the whole time we were in Alaska.  It takes getting used to.  The skies are very hazy due to fires, both here in Canada and we hear in Montana.

July 12, Day 58, Jasper to Lake Louise, Hot

Where there's smoke there's FIRE.  They're saying this fire is burning so hot it'll take until the snow flys to put it out.  It's been extremely dry in this part of Canada.  This main road we're on is closed every night so they can better fight the fires.

Other scenes on the way to Lake Louise.  This lake looked like canned paint, thick and very turquoise .

All the lakes were a beautiful turquoise.

July 10, 11, Day 56, 57 Jasper, Hot.

People, people, every where, not an animal in sight!  Well, except for 2 fat elk, right in Jasper.

Just when you think you've seen everything, then you come to Meligne  Canyon.

Athabasca Falls

Another heart to heart.

Lana and I watched this spider spin this web.  Took her (or him) about 40 minutes.  Reminded me of a saying:  "I discovered the secret of the sea in meditation upon a dewdrop."
I'm just a dog,  so of course, I can't remember the author.  But to was neat to see how she did it.

Just enjoying life with our good friend Dorothy

BTW, didn't I tell you I don't like fires?  Lana put me back in the trailer, thank you.
